About

Why WhiskerLogic Exists

Cat problems rarely happen without context. The same behavior can mean different things depending on when it started, what changed, and what else is happening around the cat.

WhiskerLogic was created to provide practical, situation-specific guidance for the real problems cat owners face — without turning every question into a broad overview of cat care.

How We Approach Cat Problems

WhiskerLogic uses a situation-first approach: start with the specific problem, consider the possible explanations, look at the details that can help distinguish between them, and identify practical next steps.

When a situation may involve a health or safety concern, appropriate veterinary attention is part of that guidance.

What WhiskerLogic Is — and Isn’t

WhiskerLogic is a research-based informational resource, not a veterinary service. We don’t diagnose medical conditions, and our content is not a substitute for an examination or advice from a licensed veterinarian.

When a situation could involve a health issue, we aim to make that uncertainty clear and explain when professional veterinary attention may be appropriate.

How Our Content Is Put Together

Our content is developed through research and review of relevant sources, with preference given to veterinary organizations, veterinary schools and universities, peer-reviewed research, government sources, and recognized animal-welfare organizations when appropriate.

We distinguish between what the evidence supports, what may explain a situation, and what a cat owner can reasonably check or do next. When the evidence is uncertain, our language should reflect that uncertainty.
